"Old Glory Farms" is a work of Charles Wysocki, a well renowned folk artist. I admire his works, they are full of life and color, and I wanted to bring one of his paintings to life through animation.

I chose this piece because it was a work that didn’t stress too much action, yet held minute details.

 

The image was broken up into 16 sections of equal size, and 12 of those sections were turned into animated GIFs. A few animations had to carry between 2 GIFs, leaving no room for error when timing the frames. Using Photoshop and my drawing tablet, I was able to crop, redraw, color and essentially create frames of animation, which I then looped into GIFs.
